I'm looking at ways to carry extra fuel on my Honda Pioneer 500. I could strap a cheap 1-5 gallon gas can on but that'd look a little too ghetto and probably not very safe. Or I could affix a Nato Jerry Can Mount and go that way because I already have the cans. What is it about Rotopax that makes them desirable? It's certainly not the pricing.
How do you carry your gas?

I use the 3 gal. Rotopax on my P500, when flashing empty fills it completely full.

The best thing about the rotopax is the various different ways you can mount them. They just don't seem to take up any room too. I really like mine but I definitely hear what you're saying on the price.

Looking at these mounts. Of course when all is said and done I'm probably will have spent the same or more except these mounts are cheaper than the Rotopax mounts. Wish the Rotopax came in green, of course theres spray paint too...

I'm still considering some type of rear platform that I could carry my dog if I had another passenger. She goes with me everywhere. If I did rotopax then I'm not sure how it would mount. With the jerry cans, I think I can do more. Somewhere early on I saw someone had made a rear platform with a drawer underneath. Hijacking my own thread here....

I have the 5 litre NATO cans.
That design has been around for a long time and is well proven.
I don't have a holder for it yet, been ratchet strapping it down.
I have some ideas for a holder but lack motivation.
Also you need to remember to carry a donkey Dick -its a thing, see definition #2 Urban Dictionary: donkey dick

That holder you have posted looks like it is for the 10 or 20 l can.
if it is for the 5 l can you post a link?

Roto pak is a ATV/SxS thing.
NATO can is more an overlander thing (also popular with the prepers.)
That and NATO cans are not CARB compliant.
Probably causes cancer if used in the state of Kalifornia.

I've got a 2 gallon rotopax. It's 2 years old and has already developed a leak at the bottom. Looks to have cracked. I haven't even dropped it on the ground once. Even worse, Rotopax hasn't responded to my email or my phone call about getting it replaced under warranty. Not impressed........
