So I have had my p1k about 8 months, I have noticed frame rust on the sides under the bed to the point the paint is gone in one area and another where it is separating into like sheets. These are relatively small areas nothing really big. Just kinda surprised its only 8 months old and its already rusting up like this. Anyone else noticing this?

That really looks like s***. I wouldn't be happy with that.

I have a Honda lawntractor made in 1991 that has no rust on the frame.
I have a z400 from 2005 that isn't this bad. I just want it to last as long as that and I will be happy but looking at this I'm concerned. I might call the dealership tomorrow and ask since I got the extended warranty.

Unfortunately, the problem lies in the materials being used. And only a blind person would be thrilled to see those s*** welds.

Get some Jasco Metal Etch (or at Home Depot, etc. any other dilute phosphoric acid). The phosphoric acid will convert the rust to ferrous phosphate and help stop further rusting. It will also serve as a good base for primer and paint. As an aside, phosphoric acid is also used on aluminum, prior to painting, so the paint will adhere properly.

I have a better idea, sell that JAH and buy a decent machine.

Yeah, that's a common Phuck up with these. I have the same issue with mine, I don't know where abouts in Florida you're at but around me it's hard to avoid water on the trails. I started spraying it down with WD40 and other lubes just to maintain it a bit.
I have the extended warranty and it says it covers the frame... I'm going to see how that works out... I dont know what exactly I want them to do... or what they will do.

yikes - possibly mud is corrosive if that’s a thing or just the damp mud sitting in there will eat it away combined with a crappy powder coat /paint from Honda - it can’t rust if it’s dry

seen this on rzrs as well - pulled skids and skids had 1” of damp mud - frame tubes would be flaking, corroding….

I wash it off pretty much after every ride
