I have a 2018 1000-5 that when shifting into park, it still rolls. Once the engine is turned off, it will roll regardless of where the shifter is located. Anyone have this issue? Any ideas?
Thanks

More info please... Did you buy it new? If used, has it always done this? Was working correctly and then just recently started? Accidentally jammed it into park while rolling? All other gear positions work correctly? Rolling while engine off and out of park is normal.

All the gear positions work correctly. It was a family members machine who passed. Just trying to go through it to make sure everything is in working order. So, I do not have past history.

Do you have any problems getting reverse, neutral, drive, low while engine is running?
I would say try adjusting the main shift cable behind the battery. If that doesn't help. Remove the cable from the transmission and physically but it in park. If it goes into park, your cable has stretched. if putting it in park and it still rolls, you have internal transmission issues.

Thanks for the response. I have no issues getting reverse, neutral, low or high. All of that works without issues.

I would suggest removing the cable at the trans and trying to put the machine in park at the trans. If it still moves, you will need to tear into it to fix it.

If everything else works and you don’t want to get in to fixing the transmission or whatever else it may be right now a Hillbilly Brake can be a temp/cheap solution to get it to hold still. Its good mod to have even if you decide to fix the real issue later.
