When I shift my P500, if I am not shifting while accelerating, there is a loud click/pop from rear end when gears engage during upshift or downshift. Is this normal noise?
Also, there is a rattle coming from what sounds like the exhaust cover area. I cannot isolate any loose parts. Thanks in advance for any help/ advice.

Mine also has the rattle - I was thinking it was the heat shielding but I am not really sure.
I also find if I pull the shifter in and hold it for a ½ -1 second it will shift a bit smoother and lessen the "clunk". You will also find that the Pioneer gets smoother once it has some miles on it. When mine was brand new I really noticed it but now that I have over 100 miles it is becoming much less noticeable.

Good deal.
Honda quality is tops.
Yesterday was my first day on the unit, and it did not disappoint. It is a far cry from the poor craftsmanship of my previous ride, RZR 570.
It seems it would benefit from larger tires aired down a bit to offset the front end having an open diff and breaking loose on steeper, offset, and rutted out hills.

Im running 26's and it makes HUGE difference - FAR better traction and it gives me about 12" of clearance under the HD skid plates. With the short wheel base the clearance works for the machine and the traction I gained is very noticeable. I also pulled my sway bar off and found this to make a BIG improvement with no negative consequences.

Did you add any offset?
If not, does the narrow track width cause any noticeable unstable feel in off camber situations?
The general consensus seems to be the bighorn 2.0's. Your opinion?

I have mine on the stock rims so the off set is standard.
I have not noticed any major changes in dealing with off camber slopes. Now it is not as stable as my 64" wide machine but it really is stable for its size. I think Honda did a pretty good job keep the center of gravity low. Last night I crossed a slope at the farm that had me nervous - my buddy crossed it with a Teryx (good deal wider then the P500) and he said he felt like it was about to go over. I had the same feeling but it made it across without issue - (I did tell the wife to buckle up tight and hold on however)
I am running the Tusk Bighorn knockoffs - I bought the HD version since there was a lot of comments about the regular ones having a thin sidewall. The only negative about the tire I can think of is it is a little loud on the road (in WV you can ride unlined roads) but otherwise has been great. Ran some extremely rough and rocky trails last weekend and had no issues and the traction was impressive.

Good to hear.
I have looked at those tires as well.
Glad to know the added weight of the HD version didn't hinder your performance much, if at all.
I just arrived back from a ride on a trail that was recently cut in to a shelf on the top of the mountain, and it surprisingly dug its way up. I could def use some larger tires aired down a bit. Loose rocks and leaves caused the stockers to slip a good bit on the steep climb (~500 yards).
Can you post a pic, or is there already a pic on here of your ride with the 26's?

Just wanted to say thanks for the tip on holding in the shifter a bit longer for smoother shifts. I've done that the last few rides and makes a good bit of difference!

Great - glad it helped!

The Pioneer photos are from different times so the look changed a bit, but the last one is the most recent. I personally love the HD bumper look on the P500. Thanks for the compliment!
