I assume when people refer to an old "cable" dozer, this is what they mean?

H&M trails in WV. Stayed in our camper at the Mud Pit in Montcalm. Was a very nice place to stay. We rode Pocahontas, Indian Ridge, Pinnacle Creek and some outlaw trails. Pretty good riding Thursday and Friday but Saturday got busy and dusty.

For those who like the rest of the story -
4:00 - 10:00 30% incline up the roughest section I've ridden, the biggest, most intimidating rocks and torn up road I've seen plus the steep incline was a definite butt clincher. It wasn't just a blip in the trail, like usual, it was 2 MILES of butt puckerin'.

15:28 I head back down the 30% descent.

17:30 I come up behind a 4x4 and stayed well back in order not to 'pressure' them, this was a nasty effin' descent.

18:00 An ole guy with the same agility as biden is spotting for his granddaughter(?). He never turned to acknowledge me, exceptionally rare in the 4x4 world. I think they ended up here accidentally and were freaked out.

28:50 They snag the rear differential. Fronts aren't turning. He gets out and looks at the hubs but doesn't touch them. She's a good driver and just gently spins the tires looking for traction, nada. I get out, can't read the hub position, so I just turn them the other way, this works but she's still stuck.

I notice the HighLift on the front and suggest we jack up the rear and let her roll forward off the jack. First he says there's nowhere to put the jack on the tube bumper. I show him the built-in jack pad. Him - "Well, that's not what HighLifts are for." Me - "What are they for?" Him - "To change flats." Wait, you just told me there's nowhere to put the jack? Now, I've checked out, he's not an offroader and really bit off more than he can chew.

I'm looking for a way to get my winch line in front of him, snatch blocked to a tree and pull him forward off the rock. I can't pull him back uphill, it's too steep and I don't have the winch for it. And I only have 50' of line to work with without digging out the 100' er I carry for this.

I walked around to the front of his vehicle - "Does the winch work?" Him - "I don't know?" Me - "Do you have the control cord?" Him - "I think so."

He finds the cord, I flip the lever to freewheel and start pulling cable, he fumbles with the keyed plug, can't figure it out and she finally gets out of the driver's seat. She knows it's keyed and looks for the locating pin, gets it plugged in, I run the tree saver around the tree and hook up the cable. He hits the go button and I have to argue him to hide next to the vehicle, not stand right next to the winch. She got the tires gently spinning, he hit the go button and it took quite a bit of grunt to get unhooked; my winch would have never done it.

As we're picking everything up, I notice the trail splits around a tree and I ask her to pick either side and let me pass. She does, I do and I'm outta there. I'm not babysitting someone who doesn't want me there.

Man, I LOVE this thing 😍 but you can go anywhere I can - locker vs i4wd. I don't ride the terrain CP does, so it hasn't been an issue 'so far'.
I know but you win the cool factor! I'm still in the process of reinforcing mine but once done i'm dumb enough to try and take it almost anywhere. I took my old work issued Mule on trails like your video and somehow survived. I know the Pioneer will be much better

Looks very rough!
I don't ride extreme rocks like the Blown Budget Offroad guys (and others right here) so this was about as bad as I've ridden, bigger rocks and steps plus the 30% grade. It was about all I wanted. As usual, the camera can't see depth very well and the size of the rocks and ledges doesn't show up very well either. Mix in shade and bright sun and a lot goes unseen. :( I was surprised that I didn't experience the DCT bog during the climb though, so maybe it wasn't as tough as it looked at the time. 🤔

I make these for my Sister in Phoenix 😍 so I don't edit them way down, glad you guys enjoy them too. 👍

What is that in the back ground?
Well that's supposed to be a self propelled howitzer. At lease that's what it looks like when your in a A10. There's three of them out there. I assume they were put there for training since Davis Monthon air base trains A10 pilots. Those have been out there for many years.

Beautiful day in the desert. Maybe 75, slight breeze.

My S.H.I.T personal satellite locater continues to NOT receive message from the wife (though it does seem to send them), as it's done for several rides now. I'd log in to update the firmware but I've been locked out, apparently. When i try to reset the password, it says it has sent an email to do so, but it never arrives. So the s*** isn't limited to the device, it seems...
