This track log screen shot means a lot more to me than you but I had a great day today, much of it above 12k foot elevation - ridden clockwise.

How far is that tower from Waunakee? My wife's sister lives there and we will be visiting from time to time. Would be cool to go see it.
Looks like over 300 miles to that location.

Access to the tower is restricted, the lower section of the ladder has been removed. You'd need to be quite motivated to make the climb

Lots of trails to ride, here's a track log from that area from Thursday last week ~92 miles

Our local club did a ride there a few weeks back. We did over 650 miles in four days

Yeah, I'm not sure I'd climb that thing with a triple safety harness. I'm guessing it was a lookout for forest fires? Thanks for all the info. I really liked visiting Wisconsin. Looking forward to going back.

Yes there are a number of these fire towers in the area.
Bayfield County is one of my favorite areas to ride.
Many locations with SxS access to Lake Superior, like Little Sand Bay, Point Detour, Herbster, Port Wing.

For the video guys. I just retired from dirt bikes but could never ride these mining roads, I didn't have the skill or strength. SxSing has opened all of the high country to me. 😍 This is a great example of why they're called the Rocky Mountains.

I apologize for the slight camera tilt, the camera mounts are serrated, it's either a bit to the left or a bit to the right. :( The gauges will start working when they feel like it. 😎

Short attention span ? - best from 8:00 to 20:00 -

CID,

Every time I watch one of your mountain trail ride videos I'm struck by the realization that you and that basic Honda Talon. a relatively unsophisticated vehicle, are out there usually alone, miles from civilization and help and yet, you've never mentioned a breakdown. I think you reported recently the Talon has 4k - 5k miles on the odometer.

You could not do that with a Polaris, Can-Am, Kawasaki Mule, Yamaha, or any other brand that relies on rubber band drive unless you have the skill and carry the parts and tools to perform a rubber band replacement on the trail.

That's pretty impressive in my way of thinking.

Updated mileage - 11,569. 😍 Other than cutting a sidewall 30 miles from camp, the Honda has been impressive. I think a big part of that is its lack of sophistication.

Luckily, I was with someone that day, so we got a photo. Note that I'm the hamsum one behind the camera. I wish I had hair on the back of my head. 😢

@Rayger143 Are there fish in all those lakes or do they freeze solid and kill the fish? Looks like they'd be awesome fishing and, with your low population density, there should be some monsters swimming out there.

Very few lakes get winter kill. All have rainbow trout and some brook trout. 2-3 lbs if you’re lucky. Most caught are smaller than that. They get fished a lot more than one would think.

Attempt number 2 went much better. Using @PJon's tracks as a guide, I made my way to the saddle at Table mountain.

As Jon said, both sides of the pass are washed and fairly rough, but completely doable.

Once you drop down on the east side, you get into some vegetation that would be a nice spot for lunch. I'm pretty sure I saw some bear scat in this area, and the trail climbs and drops a few more times on the way to my destination.

Next I came across the mine ruins.
