Got in a few rides last week before the gun deer hunting season opened in Wisconsin. Temps were in the mid to upper thirties.

Well...4 day weekend has been spent being sick. Both the wife and I. Didn't even feel like making Thanksgiving dinner. I was feeling better yesterday and snuck out to box canyon Florence for a ride. Today, I feel worse for some reason. Was going to try and take the MTB out tomorrow, but don't think it's going to happen...

Anyway...box canyon. The closest "hot spot" to me...but also to the eastern half of the 5th largest city in the USA , so I often avoid it due to the sheer number of people that go there. Literally, 5-10-15 machine caravans on a SLOW day, usually with mariachi or country rap blasting at high volumes. Blown out trails with pure moon dust. Also very rocky...which kinda brings out the worst in the 700. But...a cool place with lots of stuff.

First time I'd been through box canyon in probably 3 years. First time up AJax mine road since @WillyBill and I rode there, which I think was 2 years ago.

I took some video which will come later, but only 2 pics...

Old corral down Canyon from Orphan boy mine. I think the last time I was here was in the 500...

A somewhat hidden shaft off of Ajax mine road with and unfortunate victim who fell in and couldn't get out...

In the meantime... @lee spoke of low production videos on YouTube in the overlanding thread. Here is a terrible example from yours truly about the Romero burn scar...

This guy had a really bad day, it's 15 miles back to pavement. He was several hundred feet from the water. The lesson to be learned - when the waterline is receding, be careful, the soil is wetter, softer and muddier than you think.

At least he didn't have an issue with dust in the cab or heat coming from his seatbelt :)
