This old corral has become my favorite lunch spot...

You appear to be alone. How far are you from home when you ride and take these photos?

How many hours and miles do you ride into the desert?

Do you leave your home in your Pioneer or do you trailer it to the trails?

It looks like a long lonely walk back home if the buggy fails you.

1) Yep...usually alone. Staging was about 53 miles from my house. This spot is about 15 miles into the ride.

2) These days, maybe 45 miles is the average ride.

3) I trailer. I could ride from home for certain areas, but 43 mph top speed means I avoid highway/gravel road riding when I can. I consider that "empty" miles. The areas close to home would require some highway riding OR riding around in flat, featureless desert for some miles.

4) It might be a long walk, but then again , that's why I bought this particular Honda (even though it's been missbehaving to some degree). Even when its doing odd things, I dont have much worry that it will bring me back home.

Thanks for the explanation. I understand the story behind the photos now.

Please continue the photos.

DG, I’m planning on visiting this area next Sunday (2/13). I’ll be coming in from the east, SR 77/ O’Carrol canyon.
These are some tracks I used from online. I liked that trail...and I'd say ride it at least once, but it's not something I think you'll want to do regularly. Great views.

Sun setting through a dusty 1/2 shield...

There are a few moments when it paints a warm, orange hue on the terrain, and I mostly missed it here...but you can see glimpses...

Currently at Florence Or dunes. Weather is fantastic! Sand is firm, so it’s a little rough riding in some spots. Worth it though. Staying through tomorrow.

I believe that the first picture I've seen of a sxs with the ocean in the background but my memory is garbage nowadays. Anyways, cool pic.
