P500 Should there be a brace here

So I rode with another 500 today and noticed they had a brace on the lower drivers side of ROPS that I don't have so I'm wondering if I'm missing one? The first picture is his the second is mine.

Are both machines the same year? I'm thinking my '16 is like yours, I'll look in the morning before we hit the road.

I believe the 2015 and 2016s had the brace from 17 on they discontinued..... don't understand why they would do this?

No mine is a 20 model and he said it was his dad's and it was like 5 or 6 years old I think he said he wasn't sure

Your probably right it just seems odd to me. It's not stopping me from riding it that's for sure

Is that a box under the seat? Did you install it? I have an 18 and found a trash can that fits right in.
