Have a Kraftwerks turbo Talon which I pulled the motor and replaces, pistons, crank, rods, fuel system and everything in between, but I found myself running the stock spark plugs. In my opinion they should be the best spark plugs on the planter for $30 each, but someone mentioned I would be running a lower heat range plug. I didnt some googleing and have only found information about people using the stock plugs. Obvioudly my tuner couldnt tell me an exact part number for the same plug with a different heat range but I am assuming SILMAR7A9S would be the SILMAR8A9S with a lower heat range? I am starting to get some rough starts and weird idling on cold starts so my first suspect is the plugs. Wanted to go for the low hanging fruit before I begin chasing a vaccumm leak.

Has anyone used a lower heat range plug in their turbo talon? If so would you mind sharing a part number?

Yup stock camshaft. I ran a "stage 2" and really didn't like the feel of the car so I went back to the factory camshaft.

There have been issues with the stock cam sprocket moving on the cam.

Our race car would have weird idling issues that we couldn't tune out that were caused by the cam gear moving

Oh yea. I've got a welded cam gear. We had a similar issue with the gear on the crank. Welded that too. I'm pretty sure it's a plug or vacuum leak because when the car warms up it idles and runs fine.

NGK plugs are reversed for heat range

For example with the plugs you listed 7 is hotter than 8

Also are you running a stock camshaft?
So the SILMAR9A9S would be the plug im looking for in a turbo application? Strangly enough they are cheaper... $36 for a set of two. Im not mad about that at all.
