So went out to the garage to tinker. And found my right rear stock big horn flat sitting on the rim. Aired it up. Soaped it down. Started to plug the hole and half way through found more bubbles from another hole, than another. 3 leaks in all. So at this piont im thinking wtf. Jack it up dismount it and inspect every inch. Only to find a bunch of old dried up black berry thorns all through out the tires. So i put some slime in it and its not a big deal to repair it. But you got to be kidding. Black berry thorns. I knew these were thin but that is ridiculous.

I did pricing on the rims and tires.

The aluminum rims are cheaper than the crappy steel stock rims. For me, It's a waste to get deluxe. All you get is fancy headlights (I have a light bar... I don't even use headlights) and those rims and tires. Everything else isn't worth talking about.

Turns out, the rims over 200 a piece. Like 230 per with no warranty.

My msa vibes were like 114 with a warranty.

You want my opinion? Dump them for something that's affordable, that's what offroading is all about

Yeah.. if I had it to do over I would have swapped out the tires with the dealer for something different.

Dealer said they could do 200 for the whole set.

F******that. That's why I went with the middle model. Paddle shift and I'm not paying for over priced rims and tires

They allowed me $200 on my stock p500 tires and I kept the rims. Surely I would have gotten 300-400 out of the deluxe tires towards a set of evos or something. I like the wheels and the head lights are badass and I like the look of the side panels... but had I the chance to do this over I would have done some trading on the tires or wheels and tires as you're right about the cost and quality vs aftermarket options.

Can you buy a P1000-5 and it not be deluxe?
What about power steering. Isn't that standard on deluxe? Or is that standard on all?

Yeah man. There's 3 levels.

Base you don't get paddle shifters or any manual mode.

Mid level (mine) you get the power steering, paddle shifters, and that's it.

Deluxe you get s***ty rims. s***ty tires. s***ty headlights. s***ty winch.

Winch underpowered.
Tires are thin and small tread.
Rims have no warranty.
The headlights look cool but honestly the light output is nothing to write home about, especially if you compare it to a light bar
The winch is underpowered.

I think you also get a bumper, I'm not sure.

Long story short, the deluxe was not the direction I'm going. I do rivers and sometimes mud. Usually muskeg. I want a true to God winch bumper. I want strong tires that pull. I want a winch that can yank me out when I'm stuck.

The stuff that comes with the deluxe just doesn't do it for me. It's not HD.

But dang it they don't sell the white machine in any other way...... So if you want that color, it's honestly just cheaper to roll with it. And what a bummer, because white is badass.

None of the machines come with a winch. That's your choice.

Alaska Cycle Center? Imagine that. Even the Honda website only offers the Honda (Warn) 4500.

Looking online at Honda power sports there are 2 1000-5 models.

The deluxe has tires, wheels, led headlights, color matched door panels and beside panels

That's off the Honda website, not a dealer page

For the 3 seater. Not the 5 seater. All the 5 seaters have Auto leveling suspension
