Ok, not far from home, need to wait for the wife to get home to tow it back with the tractor. My 2018 100Se quit. It will start and isle but when I try to put it in gear it dies. I can start it in P or N, but it will not start in a gear even when pressing down on the brake. It cranks, but no start. This machine has 39 hours and 80 miles on it. I'm not feeling the love. Any advice please!!

Hard to say. Could be a variety of things.
Need to see if it is giving a code. Hopefully it is and this will help us. It will be flashing a pattern of long and shorts.

Also, What accessories do you have?

I do know the reverse switch will cause that if something is wrong with it or if your triggering reverse lights and the wiring grounds out.

Ok, Made it home. Here is what I've got;

  1. I think I have a code, the shift indicator is flashing E's, 3 long then 2 short. Not sure how to interpret that but it does not appear good from what I read. No explanation as to what it is though.
  2. Engine starts and runs in P and N, will not start if in gear with the brake pedal pushed in.
  3. Dies as soon as it goes into gear.
  4. Noticed a couple of times the oil light stayed on while running.
  5. Has not been serviced since buying it, as mentioned 39 hours on it.
  6. Accessories are dual battery, Winch, front and rear aux lights Volt indicator and AUX USB power plugs.

I’ve had this happen, unplugged the reverse lights and it fixed it.

checked the owners manual, says to turn the "emergency valve" all the way in. This will allow it to run enough to get it to a dealer. Correct?

Followed the instructions in the manual, unit is locked in 2nd gear. I can start it in gear but it acts like the clutch is locked up. Could this be possible water damage? With all the flooding I've had the machine has been up to the axles in mud and water. How is honda for warranty work?

32-1 is the code for those blinks. Faulty Fail-safe relay circuit in the PCM.

Is this from an available service manual or online resource? Great information. I think the only thing I can check at this time is the fuse, other than that back to the dealer and hope warranty covers it.

CONT Fuse was blown, I replaced it and it blew again. Is this something out of the PCM?
Do you have accessories added?

Just what is mentioned above, all accessories are run off the aux battery, isolator is installed, all circuits on fused and relays.
Start checking your grounds, make sure they are clean and making good contact. That’s where I would start.

Appreciate all the help guys, I'm about as far as I can go. I do not see any loose connections or grounds. Time to let Honda take a look. This still under warranty, hopefully they do not give me crap out the accessories. Should I remove them before bringing it in?

Lifetime members have access to the manual. Warranty should be fine as long as any addons didnt cause the problem.

Thanks for this, most useful. Now to get technical... according to the 2016 print (i hope is similar to the 2018) the "CONT" Only supplies 12 vdc to the PCM via what I am guessing is a junction. What I have not located in the print or manual is the actual location of either. The attached snip shows what I am speaking of. So, Where is the PCM actually located and any idea of the junction?

Did you check the connection on the control box under the driver seat?

I had the seat out yesterday, did not notice a control box, Where is it located?

There is a "storage" area directly under the driver seat. There is a grey module about 4inches square. Mounted on the panel that separates the storage from the engine. If you have the factory liner in that space you have to pull it out its hidden behind it.
