I also have the A3500 from TS. It comes with a remote and rocker switch. My local store has them at $169.I would not hesitate to run syn rope on it.I have used the rope on the Traveler brand winch before with no problems. My A3500 rides on a KFI mount.

Awesome. I’m getting kinda excited if I do say about this superwinch for 169 at tsc. I wonder though is actually made by superwinch or one they contract out to have their name put on it for a lower price. You see it so much these days with the big companies selling their name to someone and letting them build the product and put their name on it. Like a John Deere mower at lowes for example. It’s not a real John Deere.

What type of synthetic rope did you put on your A3500?

If I get the Superwinch A3500 I’d need synthetic rope and a wireless remote to complete the deal. And I’m going to run it in a KFI mount which is 50 bucks give or take. Decisions decisions

Ok thanks

I have a KFI mounting plate on a Honda bumper. I wanted it high to keep it out of the water. I have a wireless remote as well. $18 its handy.

Thanks for the pics. Looks good. That’s exsctly how I want to mount whatever winch I end up getting. And that’s the superwinch A3500 on there? Looks like a terra series? Also when you wired that up did you use the accessory sub harness from Honda? I’m planning to use it when I wire mine up. Thanks!

Get the synthetic rope without fail. I used the Honda harness to power the relay but ran a heavy guage wire direct from the battery back to the winch. I also power my lights off of it.

Yeah I’ll defin use that sub harness. Is that a terra series winch you have on there now?

Yes. Superwinch Terra 3500SR. All you need. But just in case i have 2 snatch blocks. Never needed them.

I thought that was a terra 35sr. Been trying to stay closer to the 200 price point. But I may end up saying screw it and just call it a day with a terra 35sr.

Yes I agree on the synthetic. For one when my little boy is with me it’s just so much safer. Cheapest I can find the terra 35sr is 263. I’ve got about 4 winches I’m looking at. If all else fails may just get the terra.

Look at it this way. You can pay $200 for what you don't want, or pay the $260 for what you do want. See, it only costs $60. Don't compromise ... you'll only regret it later. I have the Terra 3500 synthetic and the KFI mount.

Thanks for that pic. That very well maybe what I end up putting on mine exactly what you have pictured there. It makes since. It’s in my price range and is a major name brand being superwinch (assuming the A3500 is actually made by superwinch in house). Only other things I’ll need with this winch is a synthetic rope preferable in orange just think orange will look good in there with my olive color. Having trouble finding 13/64 orange rope though. Assume you need the same size rope as the wire? And I’d add me a wireless remote. I think it’d look and work real good whenever I get the Honda oem front bumper as well. Thanks again for that pic and your help

Just bought synthetic line for my warn winch. 3/16" x 50ft is pretty much that standard I found on a chart for some cable suppliers site. Until you go up to a 4000lb or bigger winch. Just search synthetic cable size chart or something similar and you should find a cross reference chart somewhere to be certain.

Thanks Shademn. I’ll see what I can find to reference the sizing. I heard of people drilling the hole in their drum out. Not something I would want to do.

I had ordered a 1/4" first cuz I got a bit jumpy with the order now button on amazon... 3/16 was a squeeze to get in the hole on the drum but it has a heat shield I not that makes it a bit thicker. I just flattened it a bit with a hammer cuz the hole is ovalish and it went thru. Also had to pound off the crimped end piece first..

Just wait until you get what you want. I bought a badlands from Rural King and put it on a KFI mount, replaced the wire with rope and was never happy with it. Noisy, slow and got hot quickly. Rural King had a sale and a 12% rebate/gift card so i bought the Terra 4500, love it. Quiet, faster and doesn't slow to a crawl under load. Did keep the wireless relay from the badlands, ran 6 gage wire to blue sea bus bar.

Was looking at the koplin line of winches recently the 4500 synthetic specifically. Looks like a nice winch. But haven’t been able to find much on them.
