Ok, so I have contacted several aftermarket shock manufacturers to see if anything was being worked on for the Pioneer. Most are uninterested by Honda's UTVs (including Fox shocks), but some are showing interest.

King shocks will develop a set of shocks if they can put their hands on a Pioneer. They are located in Garden Grove, CA and require the vehicle for 1-2 weeks. They will give 50% off a set of shocks as compensation. If anyone is interested PM me and I will provide the details.

Elka shocks also advised me they are working with a customer in the USA to develop a set of shocks. They should be able to say more in 2-3 weeks.

Chuck. This is good news. The P4 could use a small bit of pep in the front.
Thanks for checking on this.

Not sure how much you're looking to spend but I bought a RZR from a guy that had King shocks and he paid $2,000 for a set of four. Don't get me wrong they were incredible, just expensive.

The pioneer needs it. Stock suspension is limiting for trail riding.

I'm not so concerned about the stock shocks, though I'd consider better replacements, but what I'm really interested in is a good lift kit.
I've unfortunately have found the ground clearance inadequate for some of the rutted out trails at the camp.
I'd love to get a 2 to 3 inch lift with at least 27's.

Hello everyone,

Walker Evans Racing (http://www.walkerevansracing.com) now has shocks for the Honda Pioneers! We have two options - a monotube shock and an externally adjustable position sensitive shock. The monotube shocks are now on sale for $295.99 and the adjustable shocks are $443.99. We have already tested these shocks and they both are huge improvements over the stock shocks. With these shocks, you are able to increase the ride height up to 1.0".

Information will be posted on the Walker Evans Racing website within a few days! If you have any questions, please feel free to send me an email.

@WER.
Can't wait to see them. A extra inch could make world of difference with a new kick.
Standing by, can't wait.

That's good to hear, I've already dented the lower part of my bumper from bottoming it out. The stockers are to soft.

Are these stock length or is the lift achieved with preload?

No, the self leveling shocks are not adjustable. Maybe 5 spring preload settings via a stepped collar at the bottom of the shock, but that's it.
