Recent word is that troupers are targeting people on the roads that do not have helmets on.
Though the TWRA does not require one for the trails, riding on the road does.
So, if you plan to ride on any road I have 2 suggestions.
  1. Wear your helmet.
  2. Press the skinny pedal.
This includes crossing under I75 at the truck stop and between RRB and T13 trailhead or anywhere it is legal to ride on the road.

Fine is said to be in the $250 range.

I will have my helmet. I hope you will too!

We will have ours, but I'm curious how they would respond to ours being street legal with passenger plates in Ohio? Watching the Facebook conversations it also appears that an enclosed vehicle is treated differently. Putting the helmet on for the pavement is certainly easier than arguing for this trip.

This isn't a joke question will a bicycle helmet work? If not what is the least me and the kids can get away with?

My wife was reading something about this on one of the Windrock facebook groups. We are tagged and "street legal" in Tennessee, but may throw a couple extra helmets in the back just to avoid any trouble. We ride daily thru our town without helmets and the THP or local cops never bat an eye.

A helmet doesn't fit on my head under the ROPS very well.

Any recommended helmets (brands, styles) to look at? I have been needing to get one anyway
Pam and I have this model. It has a flip up face sheild and a sun visor built in.

These are what we keep in the pioneer for our state parks and will use for pavement. They are Bell, but made for skate boarding. I can't imagine they will be that picky as long as you have a helmet and aren't doing anything stupid.

We will have a couple regular motocross helmets for the weekend when our neighbor girl comes down to ride with our niece. She's under 18 so will have to wear the entire time.
