Does anyone know if the talon motor parts will be compatible with my pioneer 1000-5? For instance, 77hp... to a new 104hp!

Will not know for sure till the manuals are out but appears to be all of the same platform. The Africa Twin parts interchange 94 hp +.

Really need an IGR if your rockcrawling with big tires and the big cam. Not enough power off idle to get the rpm up and get the clutch to engage when in a bind unless u stab it. It's more fun midrange though. Drag racing without the IGR vs a stock cam and 30's, I will get jumped 2 bike lengths out the hole and makeup 2 at 60mph. Ideal for my riding would be the stock cam and a turbo or supercharger. Really needs a lot more compression for the bigger cam, tires and no IGR.

Stupid question...what is an IGR?

The gear reduction reduces all of the ratios a little over 20%.

The top end parts should be adaptable pretty easily. The pistons and oil squirters would take a lot to replicate, though I have a feeling some of these may make it to an updated P1K if Honda ever goes bigger on a 2nd Gen Talon.

Trial one Talon ECM doesn't work on Pioneer
It rev limits it, each gear get lower, it is missing a VRS sensor signal

And the moral of the story is, a Warthog will never be a Cheetah, just isn't natural.

Looking at the Parts Fiche, Camshaft, Exhaust valves and seats are different from the Talon and Pioneer however, they seem to be the same parts as the Africa Twin. The Throttle body of the Talon is specific. Power Commander 5 and the bigger head, higher profile cam would definately wake up the ol pioneer. If the pistons can handle it without the oil squirters.
