Are you coming……🤔
No we cant make it. The 30+ hour drive makes it nearly a 2 week event for us. With all the short staffing crap from people quitting to suck up the free money ill probably have to threaten to quit to do the week of the kirby ride as it is. Were trying to make a plan to get out west next year.

Allegedly the last day of over 100F for awhile and a chance of rain.

We had two house burn about 10 miles North after two kids thought it would be fun to help dad with the "burn pile". FD caught it before it got too big...not sure if the kids are able to sit but their house is cinders and I don't think insurance will cover it during a "burn ban"....and they may get bill from the county too.

For consideration, there is an alternate route through the La Sal’s. La Sal pass road. It doesn’t readily appear that it would add or take away any time or mileage, but would be much more scenic as it passes right through the saddle between Mt. Peal and South Mountain. The pass is at over 10,000 feet and would mean cooler temperatures too!!! Near the pass is a very short spur trail to Medicine Lake, which is actually a series of four small lakes. The west decent can be rough, but at least it would be on the down hill….there appears to be two stream crossings on the east and two stream crossings on the west of the pass.

Perhaps some would like to take it while others would remain on the main route and we’d meet up on the other side. Just throwing this out for discussion and thoughts…

The purple route is the La Sal pass road….

Here’s a sample run of the Rimrocker flag. Walter already repaired the misspelled trail.

Yeah, I went back over our May conversation, including that post and it still is unclear, both stickers have the same expiration dates, both say Idaho, neither say IDPR….And now lr is saying Idaho residents are putting the blue sticker on the lower right???
Maybe one is new sticker for pioneer

What do you think about the La Sal Mountains route? What about the flags….🤔

Flag is fine but I'm wanting to know if that is the "packed' rig for the RimRock trail?

Copilot will like the lower (sissy) route better.' I'm guessing the burn ban is still in effect so no open flames except for propane or the like.

Lol, I figure there would be some that would prefer the low road.
You’re wanting to know if what is the “packed” rig for Rimrocker…..🤔

That fully loaded rig with the flag attached. Even I don't have that much stuff. We'll take the low road and be in Dublin afore you!

Are we camping where the two trails meet?

Oh, the Talon you mean. That’s it’s normal load for day tripping…..
You’ll have to have a look at the teardrop tagging along behind it for the “real” gear!!!

As to the road, don’t know that I’ll be taking the pass myself due to the teardrop, but I’m still collecting data on that 29 miles.

No, there should be no camping where the two meet, by the time we’re at that point we should be well into the third days ride and headed in to Moab for the first night…👍
