US285 is good two lane highway. It is curvy coming out of Denver. Then you have to decide on Monarch pass or thru Saguache. Monarch is low gear up and down. Saguache route does not have the steep grades but is longer. I use the Saguache route every year but I am headed through NM and TX. If you come through Gunnison on week day you'll have to detour on highway 92. Be aware the highway through the Black canyon of the gunnison (92) is curvy with switch backs (switchbacks for drainages not for elevation), making it slow go, and very slow go with a trailer.

@Buckydoo you’ve got 6 people listed, are they all packing in your ride, or do you have more than one SXS in your group? What about you @WhiteLightning, I see you have 4 people listed in your group. Do you have more than one SXS coming?

Bud and Donna. They live in Daisy. They went on the bear creek trail with us last year. They have a blue razor.

I was watching some videos on the Rimrocker trail and there appears to be several water crossings, some looked a bit deep but I don't know when in the season the videos were taken. Will the stock intake on the P500 be OK or do I need a snorkel kit? I do plan on raising the gas tank vent and cooling fan vent but have not yet decided on the air intake.

This is a picture of the biggest creek crossing late May 2021 when spring snow melts are high. The snow has been all gone for quite some time so I wouldn’t think there’d be much concern.

The water levels are super low, early spring with the run off you’ll have fast deep water you may not want to drive through but this time of year you don’t have anything to worry about.
