Sounds interesting, however since this is my first multi-day trail ride I will make the decision after the second day of the. I need to see how the little P500 does at altitude with all the gear. I looked at some videos and google maps and other than long steep climbs and descents it doesn't look too bad ... however it never does until your there.

The P5 absolutely handles elevation better than the P7. I ditched the P7 it was so pathetic at elevation. Kept the P5…..
OK...if you really think my puny 700 can make it...we're in!!!!! I'll bring a tow strap so the 500 can pull us up. Do you think the 700 will do OK going down?
Well lr, your P7 will not be challenged on the Rimrocker like mine was on trails in the Rockies. Wholly different, please don’t be offended……….or concerned….😘
