Wanted to ask about running 27x10x12 all the way around and what would be the best tire for mud, snow, and hill climbing? I would really appreciate it if someone could help me out.

thx all

Welcome to the Club @MadDawg1977 !!! With the 500's I keep hearing the name rip saws. But I have a 700-4 and I really like the mega mayhems. They make a 27-9-12 and 27-11-12. They are 6 ply and they ride pretty smooth.

I have seen someone running 26x12x12 on all 4 corners, they used it somewhere in AK to help them float over the snow.

@MadDawg1977, Welcome to the club. Hard decision you have there. As for me, I will be sticking with my BigHorns for a good all-around tire. But no experience in snow so I can comment on there performance there. As for hard pack, rocks, hills, and light mud they perform well.

I don't have a pioneer 500 yet, but when I do get mine I plan on running Pitbull Rockers. I may try growlers, I'm not a 100% sure. I was a diehard Bighorn fan and I still love them. On my last quad (2012 Brute Force 750) I opted for 25.5" ROckers...man those things had some grip. They even shocked me for snow performance while plowing. Needless to say I've been smitten and will immediately upgrade my stock tires.

I'm running Kanati Mongrels 26's and have no complaints... Cant speak for snow or mud but as far as hill climb, boulder crawl, and hard pack, cant be beat.

I have Ripsaws (only 25") on my P500 and they ride hard! Its good for traction in mud/dirt/rocks/gravel but kinda sucks in sand. They look nice and aggressive but I will be putting something else on my other P500 since I want a better ride quality.

Radials do make a big difference.

In the 27x10x12 there isn't many to choose from. That's the same size i want to run on all four corners. You got ITP Mud lite XL,, Maxxis Mud Bug,, Gorilla silverbacks,, Kenda Executioner,, Interco swamplites,, GBC DIRT DEVIL,, STI Outback XT.. I think that's if. Out of all of them i can narrow it down to 4... mudlite XL or Swamplites or dirt devils or outbacks XT. The GBC dirt devil is the only radial out of them 4 tho. I think a lot of guys are going with the Mudlite XL on the 500 also they are the best priced.. I don't really want any of them tires so i might do the Black diamond XTR in 27x9x12 all four or ITP Mudlite XTR in 27x9x12 or Black water evo's in 28x10x12..

it says it is a radial on the GBC website but i guess they worded it wrong...
http://www.gbcmotorsports.com/products/dirt-devil coped from the site.......
This 6-ply rated radial tire’s compound was reformulated with more natural rubber for its elastic properties. Traction spikes were added for ultimate grip and durability in a wide range of terrain: light mud, dirt, gravel, and hardpack. Each lug is dimpled with more biting edges for better traction and stability. A surprisingly aggressive tread pattern means the Dirt Devil offers a great experience no matter what type of landscape you’re looking to dominate.

Dirt Devils grip well in mud and on rocks no complaints about them. I got rid of mine to go to a larger tire and since they didn't make a 28" I went with the Evolutions. I didn't think radials made that much difference in ride but they did.

Ohana, any issues with that rig running larger tires up front? rubbing? I'm thinking about running that size all the way around, don't really see why not..
