Thank you guys for the quick response. Can one of you send me the link to the DRD you used and Speedo POD Part number from 15-16 (assume this a Honda part number?)To get all of the little kinks out,I used the 15-16 module,15-16 speedo pod,and as 906 stated,a speedo DRD.He is right, there is a difference in the number of teeth that the speed sensor reads from on the 15-16 models vs 17-on.It was all plug and play for me.I much prefer the "no auto down shift".Glad I did it.

Glad it worked out. Good details, Without auto downshift, will the engine bog down if you let it, or will the clutch just disengage. Thanks. ( I have a 2017 also).Just a follow up on converting my 2017 to pure manual shift. Purchased Honda ECM (Part# 38770-HL5-A04 - $136 and a SpeedoDRD (Model# SDRD-H3) - $70 and installed the DRD with a -14% setting as recommended by you guys and everything works perfect. No need to purchase a new dash display. It shows "L" rather then "D" when put into 1st gear just like my brother's 2015. Shifting feels quicker and more positive. Glad I did it.
Just like all Hondas with this clutch set up,if you don't downshift before the clutch starts slipping ,you will hurt it.It will not stall, but reaches a point where it will not move the machine.Glad it worked out. Just a generic pic of what an oil bathed centrifugal clutch does when it's been "slipped" more than it should.YIKES!
What's the story behind that?
