That's great Joey! I'll be copying this before the next ride. I'm really glad to see it worked thanks for the info

I've only been on one ride since applying the stop squeal, but so far no squeaks.
It may start squeaking tomorrow but it looks like right now I'm good.
What band clamp tool did you use? The one I tried to use, wanted to tear the ear off. Ended up using the corners of my vise to get them to lock.
Are those just slip joints or special clamp pliers?
Let her rip, while it's on the lift!I should be back in action now. I'll know tomorrow if it makes any noise or not. I'll still order a new one tomorrow to have on hand in case this one fails pretty soon.

Are your shafts touching the arms? Looks like you might see worse shaft angles than I do.I should be back in action now. I'll know tomorrow if it makes any noise or not. I'll still order a new one tomorrow to have on hand in case this one fails pretty soon.

Man, I wish you had made that video when I had to take apart my first shaft!
Looks about like mine on the stands. It's on the lift right now so the suspension is at full droop. Here's a pic at full droop....

Looks like I got work to do before the Friday ride. I will get a new one on the way but go ahead and rebuild this one.
Smart manI believe I will keep using stock axles because if I upgrade the axle strength, the next thing to break could be the differential.
I think wheel damage just means you've been enjoying your machine lolMy wheels have been taking a beating as well. I'm gonna have to do something about that.

I agree with this logic 100%... Working in the world of industrial gearboxes, I'm positive that the failure mode will show-up somewhere else. Weak links are a good thing, especially when they are easily accessible and relatively inexpensive!I believe I will keep using stock axles because if I upgrade the axle strength, the next thing to break could be the differential.
