Thinking of making a.two-day run between Telluride and Orray CO in early August this year before the Jazz Festival. Can a stock 500 do Imogene and Yankee Boy clearance-wise?

Only looking at videos posted online the ride looks relatively tame, long gravel roads up/down. I would think stock tires could easily get punctured out there...

Don't know how trails compare but we did Tin Cup pass in June, no issues at all. No problem keeping up with the Arctic Cat and Polaris.
But, I agree with @alloutdoors, with stock tires, either upgrade to something thicker or carry a spare. There are a lot of sharp rocks that may shred stock tires.

Plus you never know, I may be out there at that time. Maybe we can convoy. Those higher Colorado trails are on my Bucket list.

Thank you wcjack11, 100acre, and southparkcolorado for the thoughts and suggestions. Justifying the dollars on what was already a fairly big deal will be a hard sell to the boss. Maybe just earn my stripes on the less challenging until its time to replace the stocks? I'll see what orangecrate has to say. Thanks again. Lil Red (gmacaluso)
