P500 Under Hood Speaker

Just an FYI.

The SSL BTB6 sound tube fits perfectly under the hood. No trimming at all. It straps to the radiator support bar. It does not touch the radiator and is not directly above it so heat shouldn't be an issue.

Since I did the reverse mod, I do not use the reverse lever so I ran the power cable through that hole to plug into cigarette lighter. No cutting or drilling at all.

Total cost = $83 from Walmart.

Ok. You just have to be aware when you're down shifting correct? Won't it throw it into reverse? Thanks for the tip

Got mine yesterday and the speakers came busted. Good thing amazon is good about returns and getting another one out to ya. I also found out my 12v port isn’t working. Gonna check the fuse when I get home from work. Hope this thing works good because I want music this year.

After the first ride I found it did sound a little muffled. Pick up some 1.5" and 2" speaker grills (~$5 amazon). Made a world of difference. Other than the one smack dab in the center of the dash, the other 3 are completely out of sight.

I also wired it in to the factory accessory harness under the hood instead of using the 12v plug.

Sounded ok before. Sounds much better now with 4 speaker holes.
