I have bought the gates hose to go under the hood for the stealth snorkel and cannot get it to slide on the intake tube. Any advice...by all appearances it should fit but have not been able to finesse it on.

I had to put the end in boiling water and grease on the box end. I had to run from kitchen to garage, but it worked ! Don't think I can ever get it off. She really doesn't even need a clamp, but I put one on anyway. Hope this helps. And, DO NOT use your wife's cooking pot. I caught hell for the ring it left.

I applied grease to the inside of the hose and pressed down HARD while twisting it left to right. After getting it down I tucked the other end up under the dash with the prefilter installed in that end of hose. Put screws thru hose and into prefilter to hold it in place. No need for a clamp on greased it, since it takes MAJOR effort in removing it ...... lol

If you are using grease, best to use silicone grease, as it doesn't degrade the rubber. Silicone grease is commonly used on buna-N O-rings etc. If you don't have any, silicone spray should work.
