Just installed a pair of red 14" 350lb Viper coils on LE Fox shocks. I ordered the springs on Amazon and they even came in red to match my LE suspension. The springs were $85.
My stock springs were struggling after adding rear rack, spare tire, gas cans, cooler and Alumalite top. I had my factory springs set at 1.75" (see picture) and the progressive coils were fully compressed. The rear suspension would bottom out with the bed loaded with gear and the cooler stocked.
I set the Viper springs at 1.5" and regained 1.5" of ground clerance. I am now at 13.5" between skid plate and ground. Adding 200lbs to the bed, in addition to all of the other stuff, drops me to 12.5".
I wasn't able to use my spring compressors, however I was able to use tiedown straps. See attached pictures. Make sure you know how your ratchet straps work and avoid an abrupt release. The installation only took about 2hrs.
I also used the tiedown straps to adjust the springs. If you install the straps with the suspension compressed and then jack up the body the spring will be loose and the adjuster can be spun easily after backing off lock nut.
