I've installed the WS Stealth 6 up on the Roll over bar (underside) and plan on hanging the ST-A5 6 Subwoofer behind it, hanging from bars (haven't decided on aluminum or steel yet) going from the two 5/16" bolts sticking out above the roll over bar and drilling the back bar with 1/4" holes and stainless hardware. I know technically this reduces the strength of ROPS but negligible IMVHO.

One other problem is: the Subwoofer only comes with a 5' power cable, not't nearly enough to reach under the hood, anyone have some creative electrical connection suggestions? Large wire as it draws big amps.

Any pictures?

There are brackets that go around the ROPS for that soundbar. ;)

Please tell me!

I called Wet Sounds today and they told me you need to mount them on the floor or down, hanging them won't work and, if you place them on the floor between the foot areas in the front, no guarantee of the speaker with water intrusion. They should never be submersed ever in water, even for a few seconds. So, it's hang from the ceiling or nothing.

Need those brackets!

My Wet Sounds 6 are hanging right behind the front seats.

After reading this post again, I realize you're talking about the Wet Sounds 6 or 10 bar, I have that covered, I did not buy the $70 brackets for the ROPS and just drilled the ROPS as I stated above. The Subwoofer is the problem now, where to put it in a Honda P1K-5 and not have the bras screw feet rip out on a huge bump; that was Wet Sounds advice today.

I say mount it on the floor in the front. According to the specs it is a sealed enclosure and waterproof...

Maybe add a little silicone to covers, bolts, screws, etc which may allow water in.

Most importantly it states you will get a better sound if it fires into a corner or wall

Works well in the center I am not a submariner, but I don’t worry about rain or the hose when I wash it.

Yes, I was referring to sound bars. I have them installed in two Pioneers and a pair of brackets cost $13.00.

I have my AS-6 under the drivers seat. @Ragnar406 put an AS-8 under his seat. It’s been there for awhile through water holes, washing, etc. out of site and doesn’t take any usable space up. Sounds great.

I see your in FL so you may drive in a whole lot water and that is the reason you want to mount the sub to your rollbar. I don't think the screw holes on the sub would support that much weight with any kind of good bounce.
As mentioned I have mine under the drivers seat and (knock on wood) it has passed through some mud and water and even me power washing it directly. Depending on how deep you go in water you could probably even water proof that area (would need a port to make the bass sound better that could be plugged).
if you have to have it on the rollbar I would look at fabricating something that wraps all around the sub so that the support is increased. For the issue of the wires you can just extend with additional wiring. I had a cheaper sub under the seat at first and just tied those wires into the Wet sounds ones.

Wet Sounds has their own set and they are asking $70.00 on Amazon!!!
The ones you bought are just as good.

I drilled my ROPS and used 2 1/2" stainless 5/16" bolts and the sound bar is solid as the ROPS.

I had it down there and might go with it although I'm not in love with the position.

When I called Wet Sounds yesterday I specifically asked if it would be okay to be submersed for a few short moments and he said no, they are not waterproof. I pressed on with: if it ever gets wet there its only for a second or two and he gave the standard roll of the eyes answer: Sir, it's not built to go underwater, it's meant to be out in a wet environment. What ever that means...

Do you ever go in water that high? I've had my seat box filled with water before I too the plug out.

I take it to mean that if it gets rain splattered on it or some water gets on it when power washing it can withstand it. But submersion requires a level of quality above Wet Sounds product.

Well theres this.... Looks like its meant to go boggin' to me.

They are probably like Honda they show the 1000 crossing a stream but say not to go in water more than 10" deep.

I jammed it in sideways under the dash with the speaker end facing the gas peddle, it's partially blocked by that little wall and it leaves a little space between the seat base for a dog to walk through, I'll post a picture later. I guess I'm taking a chance with water but hanging it was really not the way to go, no surface to bounce it off of and takes uno lots of headroom in the back.
