I believe that is the honda (official) ground connection.
That is where i have my winch and true isolater connected to.

No it's not a ground, it's key hot...
It’s your factory sourced ground.

Because on an Atv/Utv the ground completes the circuit. It’s DC not AC, if you had current on an AC ground it would be a problem. If you start your pioneer and check it, I would bet the reading would jump to 12.4+

Wouldn’t a check from ground to ground still read 0? As in from battery ground to the wire in question?

I would think it should, I’m not sure how he’s getting that reading though.

10/4, I would think it would confirm ground.
<———not an electrician, lol
Me neither and I hope I’m not completely wrong. The way I understand it is it’s just a big loop.

It should only be hot if his other lead is to something hot, that actually would prove the ground to be good. I think we are saying the same thing just in reverse.

Hummm... I will have to check mine to see what it reads.

Anyways, this is a ground. Its connected to the engine ground (or frame ground).
It may light up a test light because... hell I dont really know why. lol.
But many grounds will on this machine will do the same thing.

It is a factory ground on the 2017 and newer 1000's. Mine is an LE and it looked identical to that, right down to the blue tape. It is attached to my 2nd battery and isolater now.
I connected mine to my fuse block but I’ve been thinking about going directly to the winch.
