Has any one had the dilemma? Would like to know if anyone else had the dilemma, what they ended up purchasing what drove the purchase decision and how they like the vehicle they purchased.. thanks!

I never considered the p700. I like the 50 inch wide, lighter, cheaper, gear driven p500. I have a rincon and had camshaft problems with it so I was a little gun shy. The p500 was what I was looking for, basically a bulletproof, simple Honda product. Plenty of power, lots of fun.

Looked at the 700 too big for trails in the woods. Would be great for open area riding. Love the nimble 5oo.

Bought my p500 a few weeks ago because of the size, price, engine, looks and paddle shifters. I couldn't be happier.

700-4, bought it to use around our land and there's room for more than a family of two. Does well on trails most of them are eaten out by 60" rzrs and rangers around here anyway or in some cases jeeps and samis

Edit: I sold the 700-4 to by a 1000-5D

I never considered the p500, too small for my liking and I wanted a full roof over an actual bed for my dogs. It is a large rig but i dont like rubbing elbows with my passegers

Family of 4 here and I was set on the 700-4 then the 1000-5 was announce and I wanted that. Got a wild hair and bought a 500 so I could take my oldest son riding while waiting on the 1000 to become readily available. Have to say I am really impressed with it, fun machine. I am not sure I can justify twice the cost of the 500 for the 1000, might just get another 500 instead for the rest of my family, they like to drive instead of ride anyway!

Like all of the above stated on their preference depends on what you want to use it for and how many people you need to carry. If 50" width is not a concern you may want to opt for the 1000-3 rather than the 700. Of course if you think you would ever use a 4 seat option that narrows it down.

The P500 has an arguably better transmission setup and the price is hard to beat if cost is a significant concern. I had a Rincon 680 with the same type transmission than the P700 and while it worked well for the ATV I'm not sure a machine double that weight should use only a 3 speed tranny with that motor size.

I have a P500 and love it but I have to admit I went to the local Honda dealer today to get more info on the P 1000 5 seat and see what it would cost to trade.I have four grandkids that all want to go for rides with grandpa at the same time instead of taking turns. Damn the luck ha .You need to get whatever your needs call for.As long as its a Honda you can't go wrong.Found out today they really hold their value.

The great debate.. I have a 25 foot toy hauler, work and play. Went to the local dealer to see which would fit in the back. They both did, obviously more room with the 500. I thought the limited space would seal the deal. Might have to wait and see how the 1000 fits. I did test drive the 500, for it's size, cost and set up it was quite impressive.. Thanks for all your thoughts.

If i didn't need to have the 4 seats i would have a p500. There is 3 people that has the p500 in my hunt club. (2 p700) So i see them working a lot. I'm saying this from a working stand point not trail riding. Cause when i have trail rode with the p500 i wasn't impressed.

Because riding with bikes wheelers rzrs and wildcats everyone was impressed with the p5 on the trails its on the powerline where it falls short with the suspension

Yep,, It's the lack of suspension. no locker. tightness of seating. People bumping helmets cause they was so close. But it does shine in some areas of trail riding like tight trail. The 700 isn't much better in trail riding it's close. I just like the 700 over the 500 for trail riding. Just my opinion. I'm pretty sure the 1000 will be better than both.

I'm 5'9" 185. But i didn't say it was me bumping helmets. Just riding around it's fine but when you get on rocky rough ground your body moves a lot so hitting heads wouldn't be far-fetched.
