Only a few unique vehicles
A few different Mid 80s toy pick ups. Lockers, hydro steering, dual t-cases, 36”-42” tires 56dbc81db2c61afdb3634e9e3503f85b

A tube chassis rock buggy, 350small block. Atlas t-case, 4 wheel steer, selectable air lockers. Unimog portal axles on 42” irocks

I did a lot of stupid stuff off road in that truck.
I miss it for sure but don’t want that gas bill, .76 cent a gallon gas was cool when I had it.

Well since the title "What's the most unique vehicle you've owned" doesn't specify highway only - here are a few that I have owned:
1972 Fairmont Railway Motors MT14-L2 previously owned by the SOO Line railroad
20HP - 2 Cyl engine with 2 speed transmission both forward and reverse
These two photos were taken on a trip on the Algoma Central Railway north of Sault Ste Marie, ON in 1992

Here's a photo of railcars in front of us crossing the Montreal Falls Trestle (heading South) at MP-92 the right side of trestle is a 130 ft drop

Back at the AC yards I bought these two 1960's vintage Fairmont M19's along with numerous spare parts

The largest car I owned was this Fairmont A5-E that I picked up in Virginia
Powered by a Waukesha FC 4 Cyl, 132.7 CID engine that developed 35HP matched to a 4 speed forward and reverse transmission

The smallest, lightest and oldest of my motor cars was this 1949 Fairmont M9 formerly owned by the Illinois Central RR
Only 500 Lbs - Powered by a Fairmont ROC engine (aka Putt n Take or Putt Putt) - Single cylinder, 2 stroke , water cooled (condenser, no water pump), variable 5 to 8 HP due to the magneto, dual flywheel, hand crank, belt drive.
Love the sound of these engines at idle when they are about to stall and then suddenly fire two or three times and then hesitate again.

Since there is no transmission on the RO engines here is the procedure to shift from Forward to Reverse with these engines:
a) Come to a complete stop, b) Release belt tensioner and decrease throttle c) Close ignition d) Move magneto from "Run car forward" to "Start car Reverse" e) Wait until engine is nearing its last stroke f) Open ignition g) Engine will fire in reverse h) Move magneto from ""Start car reverse" to "Run car reverse" i) re-engage belt tensioner and increase throttle.

4 generations( so far) of my family have been railroad people. This is awesome !

Most would say my 79 MG its been restored from the ground up and still leaks a little oil LOL. For the people that know the car you know how that is.

But the 93 Cobra is a one off car. Many thing on this car they only did this one year. It my unicorn. Had it for about 15 years. It has 92k miles on it and is a 100% daily driver that runs 11.3 @ 118mph 1/4 mile. Been doing some work on it and hope to be in the 10s next time at the track.

I guess most unique and definitely the largest project we ever undertook was our school bus. Took about a year and a half because we were camping every other weekend and using it as we did and couldn’t work much during the winter.

My first car was a 1958 Chevy Belair, I paid about $500 for, when I was in high school. As far as unique, or something that I wished I still had, there are two.

In 1975 I bought a 1965 Aston Martin DB-5 for about $4000. I loved the car, but it was a real money pit. Kept it for about 2 years. Would probably be worth north of half a million now. Yep, im a dumb ass.

I was into road course racing off and on for almost 20 years with SCCA and IMSA. My favorite race car of several that I raced, was a 1967 Lotus Europa. Best handling car I have ever driven.

Lots of racing trunk space too...Why stop for the pit crew when you can bring them with you.

The hamster and the treadmill take up too much room back there, besides the pit crew were usually drunk, since they always had my victory celebration before before the race.... just in case.

Then I'd lay on the brakes so I wouldn't kill the garage door. Last Chrysler in my driveway. But getting back to strangest vehicle.... a 1952 Army Weasel we used to get back and forth to my family's gold claim. We changed out the flathead 6 for a 1962 Ford Falcon straight 6. It would go 30 MPH ! Way faster than you could control. If you know what bogs on top of lakes/swamps are you know you can see the wave ahead of you. If you don't see a wave- you're about to hit some solid ground... and bounce! One of my best memories of Alaska.

I saw this two years ago at the military surplus store in Kalispell Montana. I forget the owners name but he also has a Whites Half track among other toys. At the Idaho surplus store off exit 113 near Idaho falls, there's a Weasel on a pole about 50 in the air. Don't ask me how they got it up there or why. They also had a Whites Scout Car from WW2 among other historic military vehicles as well.
