Thank you for the tips. Sometimes when I get to a new area I kinda get frustrated if I have no idea where to go. I need a goal or something to accomplish never would of made a good hippie!
Try the maps that JAKAL quoted. GPS helps alot as the paper maps dont show all. I paid $50 for my download, and its great. Maybe you can have the chance to reviwe both one day and see . Happy trail riding.

Best thing anyone can do is DL and install the maps, set them active and with the Garmin GPS plugged into the computer bring up Google Earth the trails show over layed on high resolution satellite images. Allows you to scope out a route or loop on a large screed making note of trail # turn L or R and POI's. with those notes and the GPS its like a walk in the park the next day as you follow the loop you scoped out the night before. Inspires A LOT more confidence in a strange area.
