P500 Who's Wider in the Rear Than the Front?

OK, perhaps not the best choice for a thread title!

For reasons that are mostly visual, secondarily for stability; I'm considering going 55" wide rear tire width and 53" front.

Anyone running different track widths, front to rear? Pros/Cons?

I just researched this , biggest issue , especially in a locked rear end , with a wider rear track is it will “push” the front end through corners. Snow plow effect. All of my sport atvs from my 250r 400ex 450r even my moms 250ex , are all set up 1/2” skinnier in the back. Hell even my bronco and f250 are. At best you should be equal if not slightly narrower in the back for turning purposes. Especially tight stuff. Hope that helps.

From the factory my p5 was 48” rear 50” front. I added 1” spacers to even it out. No negative handling for me but improvement in stability. I have changed things around some after that and can’t remember my exact measurements but I think I’m now 1” wider in back with no complaints.

I installed Super ATV 1.5 spacers on the rear of my whip. If I am correct it sits one inch wider in the rear. still running stock tires. Works great in the snow.

I agree, I've had to 'dial out' push before, but on way sportier machines. Shortly after buying mine I stopped using the words "handling" and "P-5" in the same sentence! futz, I agree that 55" is perfect for you with the fender kit. It takes advantage of what you have. The centers of my rears temporarily right now (59") are right at stock fender edge. Sanitation's an issue!

I installed the Highlifter bracket lift kit and 1.5" spacers on the rear of my P1K5 yesterday and I am in fact 1" wider in the rear now. I will be installing a set of 1" spacers up front to even it out. I have aftermarket Sedona wheels and I believe they are 5+2 all around (picked them up pre-owned)

I went with Highlifter because I had a discount code but I would have gone RB3 if not. The spacer that I’m going to get for the front will be from RB3

For what its worth, I put 2 inch spacers on the rear and 1 inch spacers on the front to even it up and add a little stability.

So I just installed the RB3 1" spacers on the rear. Visually, it looks better with the Mudbusters extensions, but looks like I'll get a bit more of mud maybe. So now I'm at 53" wide on the front, and 55" wide at the rears.
We'll see how it goes on the tight trails.

The full Mudbusters kit puts the front body at 55" and the rear at 56", by my measurements.

Thank you, recently finished and brought the camper in. I agree, the rear end looks much better. After a couple trips on my short tight trails here at camp, I think it'll work ok, particularly since the plastics are already out there.
