This is for those of you that state that full windshields without vents can make the cabin hot. I'm assuming that you have rear window as well. What outside temps are you talking about? I live in Wisconsin and it is rare for temps to exceed 90 in my area. I'm curious if having vents is a big deal in my case.
Thanks

I just spoke to a dealer today in regards to glass windshields that fold down. He says from personal experience that a windshield with vents are perfect. He has never been so warm that he needed to drop a windshiel, at least not riding here in Northern Michigan. I suppose Northern Wisconsin would be much the same. He did mention that he highly recommends installing a rear window also, due to dust is sucked back in to the rear area when riding on dusty trails.

It isn't so much the outside temps, but the heat created off the radiator. I have my vents open as soon as the temps go above 70 and that was true even before I installed a rear window.

I would say you want vents. I live in Wi also and the vents help with dust and heat. I used them all the time when I had a full windshield.

Now I have the satv flip up and love it, it doesn’t seal as good in winter, but a couple rags stuffed in helps. The shifter, steering wheel, and the giant hole for the brake spring let more air in that the windshield.

That would definitely not be the case in southern climates.

You would definitely want vents. I live in PA and the vents make a big difference. Not having a back window is a bad idea. It will create a vaccum and pull all the dust in from the back. Just a slight breeze that is created from the vents, makes all the difference in the world.

I love my Tusk fold down. Driving the streets (up to 60mph) or in winter the glass is great but love folding it down completely on the warmer days on the forest roads or trails.

Only part that needs work is sealing the gaps at the bottom in winter time, which I still need to do. With upper doors and heater I have now, on a 0-20 degree day it still lets in too much air directly at you, but shouldn't be too tough to seal up.

Yes, I'm super lucky. During the winter after the snows there's a small elk herd that rotates in and out of the area. Just yesterday they were hanging out on the north neighbor's property about 100 yards from me.

I haven't ridden the Magruder yet but it looks great. My Talon is still pretty new to me, but I'd love to do that over a couple days with offshoot hikes from a Talon basecamp. Depending on snowpack, would be fun during spring bear season, but expect it's not too accessible until summer.

I love my super Atv flip up. But I Have a question about the inferno heater kit and the defrost vents with the lip at the lower half of the windshield. Anyone have a mod or will it take a new windshield?

I think a lot of the points have been hit on about windshields. I have a SATV 1/2 one and the SATV flip up. The flip up is great when it's wet and cold, the 1/2 is what I run the rest of the time. I don't want to ride trials in a "car". I want some wind in my face and feel like I'm outdoors. I have a screen on the back. That keeps a lot of the dust and debris out. But if you get a full windshield, YES get one with vents, or you will be sorry. I saw a group in WV where most of them had non vented full windshields. It was an uncommonly warm day for April, and they were miserable with the heat and the dust.

Ps- have you ridden it? Sorry for the sidetrack.
Yes, Darby was the base camp. Left there and went to Elk City, and back in the course of a week. Did it in my Pioneer 1000 then. Going to do the Lolo next time. Here’s a few pics to wet your lips….😂

that looks awesome
It was indeed, funnest thing I had ever done with a SXS. We’ve done 6 now for a total of 2,500 miles. AZPT coming up this fall. 700 miles and about 8 days with a group of about 12 SXS’s…
