I like the way you think (repurposing the cutting board).
I try to do the same thing a lot of times - a little Macgyvering goes a long way for me... my latest was using a toilet plunger (it was new - never used) to line up my air filter - adapting the Jackson air cleaner to line up with my new particle separator... sometimes all thats needed is a little creativity !
Still working on the addons. It’s 2021 pioneer 1000-5 brand new. I only have 3 miles on it. I figure I will do all my mods while it’s still clean. Still need to do the switch plate, stereo, turn signals, roof, windshield and skid plate
Another approach if you don't mind dispensing with the chrome bling under the hood in favor of keeping your main air filter cleaner for longer. This idea was stolen from previous posts here, where a rubber interconnect hose was used to move the filter up and back under the rear hood lip. This raised the intake a few inches, a modified snorkel so to speak. With the SE, there's too much electrical stuff to relocate while adding a second battery, so I just used the foam filter (shown here before oiling).
