One thing i will mention is that the pictures don't capture the full field of view that the Pods light up.

Got a few more things installed this weekend. RAD customs shifter covers, RB3 door bushings up front, tailgate seals along the front doors and front soft upper doors.

Here are before and after of the door seals. They helped keep the snow out as well.

Between the bushings, seals and upper doors, the front doors are now much tighter and rattle has been eliminated. I’ll be ordering more bushings for the back doors soon.

Had to do a few modifications to the door trim along the front and the top due to POD light brackets and big sky gun rack. Nothing major, just trimming with the dremel.

Took her for a short ride when done with doors, currently 25 f out, and was nice and comfortable in a sweatshirt out of the wind. Overall I’d buy again.

Added a bed divider for keeping things in place. Each cube is 14” and can fit a propane tank, 5gal bait bucket, etc.

Welcome to the group from southern Arizona. Glad to see that the 1/2” full skid plate was one of your first additions. They’ll solve a lot of clearance problems.

Nothing special this week. Cut a 1/2” rubb

er stall mat to fit the bed. Went pretty well actually, made a cardboard template for the curvature of the bottoms edge of the bed, traced it and cut the mat with a razor blade. Fits pretty well.

Finally got the winch installed last weekend, pretty straight forward install. Also did the fan override switch while I had the front bumper off.

today I got the tires studded. Originally planned on 75 per tire but ended up ordering an extra package on accident, and I’m glad I did. Ended up with 400 studs total between all 4 wheels. This coming weekend on the lake will be the first test.

I used 3.5 in extra large pool noodle to seal up the gap between roof and mid panel rollbar. Needed minimal cuts around the roof brackets for things to fit snug.

Still need to make a template for the front gap between the Superatv windshield and Honda one roof.

A new hitch and Jet sled tow hitch are in route for the times when I have passengers on the ice, or if I have a lot of gear to bring.
Also going to put koplin mounts on the front bumper for the auger and a set in the front of the bed on the grab rails for chisels.

What brand upper doors did you go with?

Honda OEM uppers are what I have installed. Things are a little tight when closing the doors, but I still need to trim around the Superatv windshield brackets, which I think will allow things to operate a little bit smoother.

Okay thanks. I’ve looked at them but they have mixed reviews. Well all the soft doors do.

Got the koplin mounts installed today. Two rhino grip pro on the front bumper to hold the auger. Went with the pro for the additional adjustments and it worked great on the angled portion of the bumper.

also put two ratchet grips on the rear passenger grab bars. These will hold a chisel most of the time, but could work for shovels, pole saws etc. they have a tab you can pull out and remove the grip portion if I do have passengers.

I also needed to adjust the front diff lock because it wasn’t engaging. Here’s a tip to others, check that it works and doesn’t need adjustments before you install your winch. Had to remove bumper and winch to access the box. Once inside it was a real easy adjustment, made sure to test it prior to installing everything back into place.

I love watching your build with the base 1000-5. I see you are also using the rig for hauling firewood and taking it out ice fishing. Have you ever had the rear cage (bars) or roof get in the way with hauling or dumping anything out of the box? I am on the fence on whether to get the 3 or 5 seat. Will be using it in the woods for firewood hauling and deer hunting.

Get a 1000-5. You can take off the rear half of the ROPS cage if you want, but you can't add seats to the 1000-3.

The 5 seater is better for resale value (if that matters). But you will also appreciate being able to put a full roof on. It keeps your rear cargo dry.

Plenty of threads on these forums on 3 vs 5 seater.

So far I’ve had no issues with the cage, it’s actually the opposite. Between the cage and the nets, it allows you to pile things in or attach stuff to the ROPS as needed.

I’ve been putting some thought into how I want to setup the bed space for year round use, and Im going to try and have any mounting point or add ons be quick release. I could be hauling friends around one day, hauling chainsaws and wood the next, and my ice fishing, hunting, or camping gear after that, so I think having the ability to change with the need will be nice.

So last weekend I got the first service done and all I'll say is listen to the folks here and remove the skid plate. I have the Super ATV skid plate installed, and it looks like removing the center rear portion will do the trick for engine/DCT oil changes. Plan to remove and install nutserts once the weather warms up. This will make dropping the small section of skid plate real easy for future oil changes.

Next day hit the lake with a buddy and his 5 yr old son for some fishing and put on some more miles, around 200 total now.

Looking to order a summer set of wheels and tires soon so that they will be ready to go once the weather breaks or the ice is no longer safe for SXS travel. Going with System 3 28x10x14 xtr370 and System 3 SB-4 matte black beadlocks 6+1.

This has been talked about before, the full roof on the P1-5 is worth getting the P1-5. I ran a half roof for a little while and sold it and got the full roof, much better.

Ice fishin season is all done, so the studded stock tires came off and the new system 3 wheels and tires went on this weekend. 28x10x14 all the way around on 6+1 wheels. I’ll be adding spacers in the rear to even out the front and back track widths. 1/2” of clearest on the inside fender at full turn, we will see when things are flexed a bit.

will be ordering a set of XL mudbusters soon and putting together a trail bag before the northern trails open up.
