I had torsion axles on this trailer, no shackles or leaf spring eyes to wear out. Worked very well in my application.

They'll fill up with mud & sticks & rocks & stuff and tear up boots. Do more harm than good. Hard to clean. I have a brand new set of Trail Armor A-Arm guards. Glad I got them free when I bought the TA 1/2" UHMW skid plate, because they are sitting under a workbench.

Thank you. It weighed right at 15,000 lbs loaded up with tools,golf cart and car.I had it equipped like I wanted with A/C, generator, lights, tiedowns for car and golf cart. Started out pulling it with an '07 Diesel Ram 2500 then graduated to a 2012 Ram Dually Megacab. Got about 5,000 miles on it then had my stroke. Sold truck,trailer and rolling car chassis. As you know, life happens. This was a pic of the rig about 6 months before life happened.

Ever tried a slider box on the rear of a leaf spring ?

Not attaching the rear of the leaf spring. Just letting it slide back and forth inside the box.

I used to have an 18ft general purpose trailer that had those on it, but after having torsion axles I would never go back to a leaf spring setup.
