Never ran shocks on a trailer, so I don't know? I've always wanted to try a trailer with the torsion axels though.

My gooseneck has torsion axles. I don't really have experience with anything else unless it's my small 6x12 that has leaf spring or 4x12 that has coils.

I had a Bass Boat with hydraulic brakes that worked of the weight pushing on my truck, best brake system I've ever had.

Best thing you can do to a camper or trailer is to balance the wheels and install shocks. Normally not done by the factory.

I had torsion axles on this trailer, no shackles or leaf spring eyes to wear out. Worked very well in my application.
