I recently purchased a new 2021 1000-5 LE. I've added several items to it already, the standard stuff like roof, windshield, lights, etc. Drove it for the first night trip today. I notice the dash panel doesn't have a backlight?! The panel seems to work, just no light at night!! Can't tell if I'm getting low on fuel, speed etc. Is that normal or maybe I have a bad panel or blown fuse? I've checked every fuse and didn't find a blown one. And the headlights work just fine. Thoughts? I've never posted anything before, hope this is ok.

You should have a display backlight to see at night. Got over 7000 miles on my 2018 LE no issues at all. I would have dealer check it, might be a loose connector to the display head unit.

Ive seen some recent members units with a similar issue. The usually find the meter plug has come undone enough to lose power.

Look under the dash, you can reach the plug.

Awesome, thanks for the replies! I will see if I can figure out if it has a loose plug. Else I'll call the dealer when they are open again. I had read several places where some people were stating no dash lights so was thinking maybe there wasn't any at all.

Welcome from the Strechen Gretchen State, Michigan!

Sounds like a loose or disconnected molex connector on the back of the display.

Question, where the heck is 16925? Dosnt say the State your from.
And Got some pics of this machine? As we say, pics or it didnt happen!

Here's a picture before everything was added. I did take off the rear roll cage and have the roof mounted at this point. Also had a picture of the dash once I had all the switches installed. Its covered in mud right now, when it stops raining I will get some new pictures. 16925 is in Gillett, PA. :)

Ya, I didn't care for the brown either, but kinda gotten used to it. Really wanted camo, but couldn't get the LE in camo. And the dealer didn't have a camo one, so ended up with the brown. Here's some more pictures. supposed to rain the next several days, so just took some pictures with the mud on it. Its still on the trailer, so will just take it back to the dealer and have them check the dash lights. I checked the dash plug and messed around with everything I could touch but couldn't get any backlight on the dash to work. I forgot all the stuff I put on it, but remembered as I was taking pictures. Mirrors, side and overhead, gun rack, fire extinguisher, dome light, rear light, led light bar, synthetic rope wench, roof, windshield wiper, windshield washer, dash panel, USB ports, bed liner. Guess I've done more work on it that I was thinkin' hehehe I'd still like to find a nice rear bumper that will work with the dump box. Not sure what to get because I removed the rear cage so would look for something that might bolt on where I removed that?

I really, really like that brown. It was the machine I was looking for when I was looking to move up to a 1000. Then I realized I would just put Arizona racing stripes on the colored panels, so I ended up going with a base 1000-5. My 700-4 had been thru all kinds of nasty brush and the factory black plastic seems pretty resistant to brush scrapes.

Thanks! I finally got it all washed up, at least as good as its going to get right now. Dropped it off at the dealers. They are going to fix the dash backlighting. I see what looks like scrap marks on the door. But maybe I just didn't get it cleaned good enough. I will look at it a lot closer when I go pick it up. :)
