I don't to claim to know all that much about suspension setup, I can rebuild any shock or fork but I've not been involved in them enough to modify them.

All I can I say is the Shock Therapy spring kit on that X2 was terrible and the few full shock builds I've ridden in have been light years better.
I’m with ya, it’s just o-rings, seals and inspect to see if anything is worn to be replaced. When I had the springs off my X shock - for what it’s worth before revalve - I couldn’t budge the shock shaft with my weight pushing down. Don’t know the art of revalve and the fluid flow dynamics.

Springs are extremely stiff. Put 180lbs on front and goes down about an inch. Got shocks set at softest setting. Been quoted $1400 for "spring kit". I'd have to see machine with kit before that kind of money.

Looking for suggestions for getting a softer ride?

Bob

Just an FYI....... I paid Double E Racing $1600 for 8 new springs, a full revalve including removing the internal top out springs and adding high/low speed compression adjusters in place of the 3 position knob they come with stock. And that included return shipping.

$1400 for a "spring kit" is retarded and a complete ripoff.

And you are happy with the shocks from Double E?

yep - that’s the going rate - I suggest to include schrader valves as well

if u r sending out and the shock tuner is gonna supply new springs - if u wanna save a few bucks - takes the springs off - no need to ship junk weight

I already had Schrader caps on my shocks so I didn't need them. Removing the springs and letting the nitrogen out so they collaps is key to shipping them for a reasonable price.

Stick to companies who do SxS shock work exclusively for a living like Double E Racing and G Force Technologies and you will not be disappointed with what you get for your money.

If you want to find out how good a particular shock tuner is see what the top SxS teams in Ultra 4, Short Course, desert and woods racing are using and I bet 9 out of ten are one of the above mentioned tuners. The Miller Brothers use Double E Racing for their KOH, short course and woods cars, and Kyle Chaney and Dustin Jones use G Force for their KOH, Desert, short course and woods stuff. Those are all factory Can-Am drivers that can afford the best of the best and they use Gary and George exclusively.

You know what names I don't see on those style race cars? Shock Therapy or Weller.....

I sent my shocks to Weller in Arizona. They asked what kind of riding I was going to be doing, what kind of weight I was carrying in the rear, spare tire etc. When I got the shocks back, I took my Talon X 2 seater out on the same trails I had ridden before, so I could tell if there was a difference. There was a "Big" difference! No harsh bumps, it seemed to smooth the trails out. I've been running them for about 2 years now and am very happy.
Did they just deal with shocks or also soften springs?

Hi - my advice is to call them, speak to them, tell them what you have, what you want/looking for and yes they will go inside the shock and do their majic combined with most likely new springs

I get it - that’s a lot of money to spend but if you want comfort and you are gonna keep the machine it will be the best money well wasted 😂.
