Got this fella this morning out of my favorite stand.

Got’er done today...

So my grandma died a few days ago. (Dad’s Mom) It wasn’t unexpected, but not expected either.. she’s been in a nursing home and dementia had set in pretty bad over the last few years. But it was still his momma... he’s not a real emotional guy, but I could tell it stung. Well, last night... which was also dad’s birthday.. I asked grandma to shine down and give us a good deer for him to help thru the loss. (We have a standing rule, don’t shoot it unless you’re going to mount it) He checked cameras a few days ago and had a couple pics of a good deer.... Well, I spotted him on my side coming thru.. glassed him and said, “Dad, your deer is here!” I haven’t seen him move that fast in a while! Lol... Needless to say, it was a good day with my daddy’o and my oldest was with along for the show too! He’s a cool deer, 3 tines broke off including both brows with lots of blading.

Took my neighbor with me to my family property last Saturday. He got a nice 10, then Sunday my dad got a nice 8.

We have pretty much anything a person could want to hunt. Deer, Hogs, Ducks, Doves, Bobcats, Fox and Yotes.
After deer season we hunt the night with thermal and digital night vision to thin the predators down some.

My wife and I hunt together every year. This morning she got a little spike buck and I got a 10 pointer. Had to really use the pioneer and two 30' tow straps to get mine out of the draw.
My dog did a good job cleaning up the rest of the blood after we got home. Lol

Purely by chance. She got hers about an hour before the 10pt came by.
Besides, she already has a huge one mounted on the wall.

Shot him Monday evening recovered him Tuesday morning.


20 min limit this morning. Took my brother and I longer to set up than to limit. He shot 3 before we got the A-frame put together.

Had a great weekend at the ranch. I took a nice 11pt buck Sat morning and a good hog Sat night. Predators were really moving also and other hunters got 3 Yotes and a Bobcat.
I was fortunate to get this buck as I didn't have any game cam pics of it in my area. Chasing a doe had his guard down. Had him on cam on the other side of the ranch at a protein feeder when he was in velvet and could tell he was a big bodied buck. He weighed in at 176# which is a bruiser for us considering that our average bucks weighed in around 125-135lbs 10 years ago.
Our management plan seems to be working.

What part of Kansas are you in? I'm looking for a good spot to do some duck hunting mid-late December. Have any advice? Thanks.
