you can go from Tincup pass to St. Elmo and back around to Cumberland to make a loop,
That’s awesome, what’s your estimated time to do that, say in a casual ride??

Better part of the day especially if you stop and monkey around in St. Elmo buying tourist stuff and if you have your wives with you that is a given.

Thanks. I’ve been to St Elmo by car twice recently, hopefully my wife got all that out of her system lol. Thanks for the estimate. :)

Monte,

Thanks ... I've got a stock P500 for the most part and I wanted to see if I could hang with the big boys on this trip before committing. Trying to see the range of difficulty and clearance required.

You need to do Tincup and Cumberland pass, they are not difficult but very scenic and above timber line, you can go from Tincup pass to St. Elmo and back around to Cumberland to make a loop, other rides that present more a challenge are American Flag Mountain also worth the time is Hancock, Slaughter House gulch and Italian Mountain. You can also go north and take a trail that goes to Aspen.
Alan,

Thanks much for the reply. Stock P500 and need to watch my clearance. Sounds like Tincup and Cumberland loop is doable.

Monte,

Just poking you a little, stop being so humorless and thin skinned. Jeez, you have an amazing knack for sucking the fun out of anything.
Just poking back, lighten up kiddo.

And make your reservation for RV space or a cabin if there’s still availability, on March 1st.

I have the P5 as well and that ride is very doable, only negative is leaving Taylor park RV park or that area you have eto go about 8 miles on a very good gravel road so keep in mind the P5's are not fast but you have it pegged out all the way to the town of Tincup but as you go into town you won't have to worry about the fake police car and speed limit.

Don't be concerned about hanging with the big boys, they all have tiny ninja noodles.
