I'm going to pick up my new 2016 1000-3 on Saturday. We are wanting to put 30x10x14 roctanes on it. What modifications do i need ? What can I get away with ?

From the experience of other members here, they say you will need forward arched A-arms. @JACKAL has tried it and it didn't work so he sent his tires back.

Welcome to the forum @Spud. You have come to the right place.

I have a set of 30" Roctanes in my shop floor. The forward arched A-arms should be here this week. It's not cheap to run true 30" tires.

I also have a set of ITP Blackwaters that are 30x10-14. They actually measure 28.5". They will fit with just a strong made bracket lift. I will send them back because I have the forward arms coming and I want to run a true 30" tire.

Where are you getting your A-arms ? Cost?

CATVOS has them and so does high lifter. The CATVOS lift includes front and rear clearance arched arms. For the front, the CATVOS arms are forward arched for tire clearance and the lift is built into the arms.

The highlighter arms are front only and the lift comes from brackets got the top of the shocks. The HL kit is a lot cheaper for those reasons.

^^^^ also read a couple reviews on the catvos that they needed some massaging into place. i currently have 30" motoboss tires with an ITP 216 rim that has a 5/2 offset. they do "kiss" the firewall but just barely. I'll be purchasing the highlifter arms.... soon as i finish fiddling with the new power commander i'll be getting in friday.

I ended up with SDI HD3 rims with 6+1 off set and 30x10x14 maxxis Coronado . They just fit .

Be careful. They may make a significant impact if you ride hard. Check the pic below, this is stock 25.5" tires that are stuffed almost to the top of the fender. The roctanes I have now are a true 30" inches and there is no way they would fit even with a 2.5" high lifter kit.

My buddy is running 30" EVOs with a HL 2.5" kit and measure 28.5" and rub only a little bit.

@Delton, chime in let us know what you think

It passes the bucket test and my lift is not a production model. It was a prototype CATVOS lift that was only 1.5" lift and 2" forward arms. The cool thing is I can pass the bucket test not only in the middle but further left and right.

I just don't think 30" tires clear properly under all circumstances even with a 3" lift it rubs at 1/2 turn on the drivers side. To run 30" you need 2" forward A-arms minimum. With just a lift kit 28" true 28" is all that will fit and clear under all situations. Don't be fooled by advertised sizes, the Honda OEM Bighorns are only 25.5: tall at 14 psi even though the sidewall says 27" tires.

I have a HL 2.5 lift with Blackwaters 30/10x12 and only rub just a little when you turn the wheel all the way
So far so good. And these tires ride great. Aired up to 12-14 psi they measure 29 1/2 ish.

Mine only measure no more then 28.5 at 10 psi .

I also had short 30" EVOs. I really like those tires and they are made in the USA. Sucks that they don't make a 32" version I could buy and have a true 30" tire then.

I called ITP about the stated size vs real size and they told me if the tire is inflated to max pressure printed on the side wall, it will measure true.

The max pressure is 32psi, that would be one bouncy ride!

I have my Evos on the factory steel wheels. Maybe the wheel is a little narrower giving it a little more height.
