P500 4wd shifter adjustment

Just put lockers in the front diff. 4wd want engage. What’s the proper way to adjust linkage

Ensure the spring is in, thinking mine was about halfway of threaded rod. Also make sure the wire for the 4wd indicator light is intact, did you pull the connector off, or did you unscrew the nut when you took it off? The online video shows turning the nut which is not recommended IMO. It pulls off more easily.
