would the foreman or rubicon one work?. not a fan of loud exhaust. but seems like either those would work or a slip on style with an attachment?.

Thinking yes.... I cut the stock exhaust just up flow from the cat converter (and removed it and stock muffler) and (welded) a slip on fitting, then added an aftermarket muffler. Gotta say I didn’t wanna spend the large dough (here in Canada) for a brand name muffler so spent iirc $160.00 on a knock off. So far has worked really well, albeit it’s a little louder then what I want. All really have to do now is find a 2” slip on that a little quieter, when... or not. Did I notice a performance difference? Seems to breath better and the butt dyno feels a little crisper, better throttle response and will pull out of lugging say down low in 3rd gear.

When I had my 500, I got a stainless steel muffler from an older Honda sport bike (1998 Interceptor). A friend of mine gave it to me. It was roughly the same size as the stock muffler but it didn't have a cat, and obviously it was designed for more flow (110 HP motorcycle). I stripped the rear rack and fenders off and took the buggy to a local SS exhaust shop. They cut the stock muffler off and welded the new muffler in, added hangers and all. They charged me $60 and it came out great. Noticeable increase in throttle response. It was well worth the upgrade.

Has anyone opened up the stock pioneer 500 muffler to see what's inside? Looking to make mine quieter so maybe some sort of muffler packing? The muffler sounds hollow by tapping on it.

Hole sawed the end out and added a tip for a Grizzly 660. Open up inner baffle too. Actually sounds less obnoxious than stock. Breathes a little easier.

If you want it more quiet, I put one of these on my P-500 a couple years ago, love it. This and rerouting my air intake to the top of my rear roll bar, it's about 50% more quiet. The 'Silent Rider'... HONDA PIONEER 500 (2015-2020)
