P1000 Air intake / Snorkel

Does anyone have any opinion on reducing the air intake to 2 inches for adding a snorkel? Was wondering how much a difference it would make in performance. I don't think it would be a big deal.

Question 2, when adding a snorkel you are bypassing the second air filter under the hood. Is that a good idea? Or better yet does everyone incorporate it in another spot?

I only use the main air filter at the moment but do plan to add some type of prefilter to help with larger objects (rodents, small children etc) lol

Added a 1 ft section of 2" and added the K&N to use as a pre filter. Used joeymt33 adapter and 2" PVC pipe splice.
Almost all that I have seen retain factory air box and filter.

I just got my aluminium pipe today. I don't think I'm going to need it all. If I don't you are welcome to the rest if its long enough... Probably won't get to it till next week though... Just a thought.

best thing i have seen is a guy on the pioneer 1000 riders page is eliminating all of the piping leading up to the top of the air box. He wants to fabricate a new top for the airbox with a tube coming straight up! all made of aluminium! sounds awesome and makes the most sense of anything i have seen by far so far!

I honestly can't remember the part number for the filter or the outer dust filter. But if you search k & n universal straight air filter you will find a variety of them to choose from. Hope that helps
