Does any one have good locations for all the vent hoses? I can see the fan, front diff, rear diff, fuel tank but not sure about crankcase or any others. If the 1000 is like the 700 then the crankcase vent in the air box? I'm going to make my snorkel today and hopefully dry everything in today. Thanks for any help and or pictures.

The sub trans vent is just under the seat.

I thought about making a post with this info and pictures. The only one I am not sure about is the crank case as you mentioned.

- fuel tank (most important)
- sub transmission
- front diff
- rear diff
- fan
- coolant overflow (maybe)
- What else???

I know there is a vent on top of the head with a built in check valve to disallow oil from exiting. There should be one on the bottom 1/2 Of the case also.
This needs to be explored!

If you can post pictures I can edit and build the thread to match for future readers.

Na.. that works. I'm going to build a post if we can get them all.

Ok, I've got them already posted in my build thread. I can better pics if needed.

Some IPL's showing the vents would be cool too.

I like the bellows and understand that is what they are made for but wonder it they would pass inspection on a warranty claim? My old machines I just made longer hoses higher in the cab with a fuel filter on each one but not sure that would pass either.

Good question about the warranty claim. From what I understand, the only potentially harmful effect of the bellows would be a blown/leaky seal due to overpressure. From my research, it appears that many other Makers use these and sell them at their dealerships, so I wouldn't think there is much of a concern about damage due to bellows. The longer hose and fuel filter seems to be another workable solution.

I found the fan, front diff, fuel tank, sub trans, rear diff. I alsostarted making my snorkel in 3" silicone coolant hose... stuff is cheap!! I need to take more pictures. For now I stuck the prefilter in the top of the 3" hose until I put a real snorkel tip on it. I think it was honda sxs that put the jeep snorkel picture up and that's what I'm thinking of using.

What bellows did you use? Trying to find them on Amazon.
Their are guys on other forums running artic cat bellows because they are softer. If you have a local artic cat dealer just stop buy.

Nice snorkel. Thanks for sharing. Can you show a pic of fender a little closer? I'm curious how much you had to cut.

Thanks

Nice thread I've been wondering about all the vent lines. Cheap insurance to say the least.

Seems like I read an article that the diffs and transfer case need to breathe to prevent stale moisture from turning acidic and causing breakdown of the fluids.

Could have been related to something else....
