Hey @Adam490, what do you think about this combo for a crawler?

It'll probably be fast. You can gear it down, but I've found that any of the standard/race ESC don't have the instant drag brake to the extent you'd want with a crawler. I ran a sensored 17.5 with the expo turned down so it would have a better low-end and it drove well. The thing that killed it was the lack of available drag brake.

Also, make certain your first layer of paint is completely dry before you move on to the next color. Back light colors in white to make them pop, or you can use silver and give them a bit of a shine. If you've got any questions feel free to PM, I painted bodies for about 5 years when I was a poor college kid to get beer and R/C money.
Good idea on painting the extra lexan for practice. When we had the youngest son's Duster painted 15 years ago, we did it Viper Red and it came with a white base to make it pop. If I was smart, which I'm not, I should just send you the body and let you paint it!;)

Sigh.... Still no battery. Got refunded for the one I bought on Amazon that's still floating around in USPS and the others must be on a rowboat from China. I'd just go to the hobby shop but they won't be open until Tuesday 🤬

Castle Creation was always my favorite! Buy the castle link, download the program and hook it up to a pc or laptop, you can dial in every aspect of the esc.... it can have instant reverse and a killer drag brake!

With a castle esc you need the castle link to make the proper adjustments. It has the most adjustable drag brake out there

They have a lot of drag brake when set properly. They still don't have the low speed control like this thing. If there is a castle crawler esc, I've never tried that one. I've driven all the Castle ESC, they always seemed really jumpy to me. May have been how they were programmed.

They do come set up for racing but adjustments to punch control and the throttle curve take care of that. I used them on ever crawler I had and they were smooth as silk
