Ive had this idea in my head for a while. Im sure Im probably not the first to do this, but Ive been wanting to make a form fitting block that will slide down into one of my ammo cans mounted on the back of my P5. I want this block to hold my impact gun and some sockets and 3/8" and 1/2" drive hex adapters for the sockets to go on. I want it to be kinda form fitting to the impact and sockets so they dont bounce around too much. This wont be for when we're going to the mud bogs and going deep, even though the ammo can stays dry. This will be for places like RRB for trail side repair. Most places we go we can be towed back to camp in 10 minutes for a fix. RRB aint that way. The ammo can is roughly 7" deep, 11" long, and 5 1/2" wide. I had some leftover 2" foam from a floating bbq grill I built last summer and decided to use some of the foam sheet for the block. I glued a block together roughly the same size as the ammo cans inner dimensions and Im letting the glue dry over night. Ive already screwed up because as Im writing this I realized I should have decided how I want the impact to be positioned in the foam, and cut it out while all the pieces were seperate to make it easier. Oh well, I messed up. It can still be done though. If the foam method doesnt work out I was thinking of doing it out of plywood. Either way it ends up being done I thinking of coating it with that Plasti-Dip stuff that you coat tool handles with. Im sure this wont be something I knock out in a weekend. I'll just piddle with it here and there when I'm not doing more important stuff. Heres some pics for now.

I shadowed quite a few tool boxes you didn't mess up. Take a black sharpie and trace around the impact then use a knife and cut out the shape. The pieces being glued together you won't have any mismatch.
