  1. 700-4
Thanks for the input guys.

I just rode my buddies 2016 pioneer 700-4.

I must say, I was pleasantly surprised, it seems like it has the power and response I was after. I even tested it on a long gas line hill climb, it went up without a problem.

His is a base model, without PS. The steering seemed pretty easy, or at least comfortable to operate.

With that being said, I do not want to test drive the 1000-5. My major question- is the deluxe upgrade worth it? It’s about $1,400 more for the deluxe unit?

How about the pricing-

2017 base model 700-4 = $11,596 OTD

2017 deluxe 700-4= $13,000 OTD

Are those good prices?

Thanks again,

Smitty
they are fair but he has wiggle room I bet

The Deluxe 1000 comes with self leveling rear shocks, power steering, taller tires, turf mode, I can do circles in the yard and never leave a mark and more power. $ 1,400.00 sounds like a cheap up grade. My buddy has a 700, with passengers in the the rear, it squats. Some of the guys here have been making there own preload spacers, and seems to help. Power steering will cost $ 600.00 for the 700. you can get to that $ 1,400.00 real quick. Getting to what the Deluxe already has. Do they have any of the Deluxe 700's left? I first started looking at the 500, then the 700 and then realized, I would have wondered what a 1000 would've been like. I don't envy you choose selection process that you are going through, HA!

I think the deluxe is worth the extra$. I know PS is not first on your mind, but it' about $300 to $400 to add. The PS is a must have in my opinion.

Thanks.

I have found several 17’ 700-4 deluxes left.

My back seats will be for my two kids, I doing think it will be an issue.

The 1400 upgrade isn’t bad, but then I start thinking for another 2500 I can get the 1000-5.

The thought process behind this is troubling.

Out the door on mine, with hard top roof was $14,100 for a 2018 deluxe! I was happy with the deal as my local stealership was $16,000 and a 2016 model.

Yeah they keep those price points close enough to make you second guess your decision lol.
I kept thinking the same when we were deciding on our 700-4 deluxe, but the slightly smaller size and mainly using it in a private community with 25/35mph speed limits helped make the choice. Also helped that we found ours for around $13,400 delivered with hard top, 2pc hard coat windshield and mirror

Man I would like it. I’m not sure I can justify the 4000 increase “ over the 700-4 base” and then needing to buy a new trailer to put it on.

I always like having more power then what I actually need, but is it worth stretching an already limited budget?

I gotcha. No problem and this is fun. Listen to your older twin 335. ;) Take your time and you'll be happy with what you get and most important is get that family out and make memories. One more thing because I know your thinking and pondering but I've had all the Honda's now and in your shoes I'd be seriously shopping to buy a base 1000-5 way before I bought a 700-4 deluxe. You really do need to drive a 1000 before you decide.

Trailers? Ok so I had this too but had no trailer a few years ago so started from scratch when I bought the 700-4. Bought a used 6.5 x 10 for 625 dollars and they threw in a new set of bearings in and it's been fine other than I replaced the tires after a few road trips and still have the new bearings in the package. Sell your used 5x10 for xx.xx and upgrade for a couple hundred to a 6.5 x 10 or whatever. Trailers to move these things around in the open are cheap as in less than the 7% sales tax on the Honda. Just sayin for thought.

So what's the price on a 700-4 Deluxe out the door?
Does that include the 7% sales tax? If so your getting close.

Give offroad express in erie a phone call.

Couple small differences between 16/17 i believe, most can be installed by you. One that comes to mind that is 17 only is the trans remembering if you were in auto, manual, and/or sport mode before switching between drive/neutral/reverse.

Only 18 models have the shift mode memory.
Changes from 16 to 17 on P1K are:
Under seat mat changed (heat kit mitigates this)

Radiator air deflector (keeps heat out of shift hole)

Pre filter box changed mid way through 2017 run

Seat foam is thicker

Shoulder bars

The 2017 700-4 deluxe is 13,000 OTD.

The 700 includes the 7% sales tax.

The 1000-5 base is 6%. (The goofy county to the south of me charges more tax)
