P500 Another Rifle Mount Thread

Did the search, narrowed my choice to gun mounts instead of a case. Just need to hang one, want it inside the roof.

Is Kolpin XL the best choice? Reviews say base can be wobbly.
Don't suppose ATV ones would work due to the smaller diameter of the racks.

Cabela’s has a great case that holds two rifles and goes on the roll cage. Easy access and keeps them clean. Much better than any of the racks I’ve seen.

Where I ride can get pretty dusty, which accumulated on the action. Would love to have an inside roof mount for the Mini 14, for now usually gets wrapped in a jacket (as roof mounts too dusty for my needs) .270 M70 gets stored in a hard case on the back, which also will fit the .243 B78. Like the look of the cabelas soft case that straps to rear of cab, for the extra storage and out of the way, just not sure it’s waterproof.

The Cabela’s one has a rain fly attached to it. I use two of them to carry 4 rifles on pdog trips.

It is not exactly waterproof. It is water resistant. I leave it on my ride almost all winter but I park under a roof. i forgot to close the zipper once and it was pretty wet inside after a hard sideways rain.

If anyone is using the independent V style mounts (Kolpin XL, for example), I'd like to hear your thoughts. Wanting to mount one pair above and behind me. Will have the Honda roof over it . . .

I just ordered the Kolpin XL. I’ll try to get them installed this weekend and post some pics and tell you what I think.
